Current Herd

We have built one of the finest bull batteries in the country featuring a mix old and new line proven genetics. Our herd sires produce consistent quality results and pass these traits along to their progeny. They produce low birth weight and heavy weight weaning calves. Every bull we sell is BSE'd, has a 1 year breeding guarantee and is gentle. All semen we sell is guaranteed flush quality. Our farms 3 year average BW's for all our bulls is 76-78lbs and our average WW's for heifers is 625 and 725 for bulls. We use no implants nor do we creep feed, our cattle must perform on forage.

Cherokee is at the heart of our foundation herd program. This outstanding dark red polled U1/2 bull is performing in our program and many major seedstock breeders AI & embryo programs. His dam (** Model) is recognized as the most dominant, highest dollar producing donor female is this breed. Cherokee produces powerful large boned, wide topped, square rumped cattle with correct structure, feet, legs and clean underlines. Cherokee continues to pass these traits to his offspring. He is still naturally breeding at 11 years old. Pedigree!!

This outstanding U 1/2 black bull (**CJ's Desperado x Jungle Bunny) consistently produces low birth weight, heavy weaning, quality calves. He is extremely thick, very correct and produces deep solid reds and blacks and every one has been correct. We have had tremendous success in breeding this bull to light reds and paint heifers/cows and either getting solid reds or blacks. This is the perfect black bull to outcross your black genetics to. This is one of the only black Beefmaster bulls that is blood typed/parent verified back to his great grandparents on the top and bottom. This red polled Cherokee Renegade son follows in his father's footsteps, he has outstanding libido and exemplifies the six essentials. He's got excellent EPD's packed full of meat and a very gentle easy keeper. In fact we think he may excel and surpass his father. He consistently puts quality calves on the ground. I can't say enough about this young bull, he's a solid red U bull out of Momma Cow (U 1/2) and Cherokee Renegade. He was bred as replacement herd sire for Cherokee Renegade and Native Illusion. He has a clean underline and great conformation. We will be breeding this young bull with quality heifers/cows for his first calf crop due Spring 2009. Pedigree!!

COW & HEIFERS

We have selectively built a quality young foundation herd of 60+ cows, selecting for genetics, but above all we look for quality. 95% of our foundation herd have U 1/2 ranking and 98% of our 1st calf heifers put up for ranking each year have ranked U 1/2 or better. We entered this business to produce a quality product for seedstock and commercial producers. We don't intend to be a 300 cow operation. Our foundation cow/heifer herd is currently maintained at 60+ head. We breed all our replacement heifer's and they must calf by 28-30 months old and rank no less than a U 1/3 to be considered for our foundation herd. Sassy is a prime example of good genetics. She is out of 200/8(Miss Polled Texas x Desperado) and Postman. Gentle, very good length and conformation. She Breeds back every year and puts a great calf on the ground.

What can I say, Betsy Lee represents line bred 6/2 at it's best. Betsy Lee is surely destined to follow in her mothers (Betsy Ross) footsteps. This is the most amazing cow family and progeny I have seen, their conversion on grass only is a sight to behold.

Polled Belle is one of the very best Polled Perfection daughters of them all. Her dam is the Patriot daughter that is the dam to Bruno. Polled Belle is gentle and has a very good conformation. We've had calves out of her by both Native Illusion and Black Blaze both were exceptional and polled.
 

This Scarlet Pride daughter is exactly what you would expect from such a mating - moderate frame, feminine conformation, angularity, good udders and length. She is bred to Black Blaze due to calf in Spring 2005. She's one of the 3 sisters I purchased at 7 months old.
 

This is an outstanding young heifer out of Synergy x Chastain Farms 6/9. What can I say this cow put her first calf (solid red bull with black markings) out of Black Blaze and probably the cleanest underline I've seen. You don't get calves any better than this, we just rebred her back to Blaze.
 

What can I say about this cow, she is line-bred Havana with outstanding genetics both top and bottom. She was Ranked #1 Graded Bred Heifer at the CSBBA 2002 Mid-America Beefmaster Futurity. She is the dam of CBS HooRah (a Cavalier son - see bulls above) and put a solid red heifer calf on the ground out of Cherokee this year (2004) that when John Newburn saw not only her bull from last year but this young heifer, his comment was "you ought to be flushing this cow". Well I agree with John but we decided to put one more calf on the ground out of Cherokee before we do that, But if you are looking for quality the look for this cows flushes coming in 2005 - We will be doing 3 initial flushes on her staring next June 2005 first to Black Black, second to Native Illusion and finally to Cherokee.
 

This is a beautiful young cow that is the daughter of Jungle Fever. This cows first calf (red heifer) out of Native Illusion was a home run and we bred her back the same way and she should have a calf in October. I can't say enough about her or her calf who is currently owned by Will Reed a JBBA member who will be showing her at the Nationals this year (July 2004). She just received her U 1/2 ranking (2004).

We think this female is special. Her sire is Double Deuce, a black Evolution son. Her dam is was the first calf of P.W. Cool. Bred to Black Blaze and due to calf in Sping 2005. Ranked #1 Bred Heifer and Overall Reserve Grand Champion Heifer at the CSBBA 2002 Mid-America Beefmaster Futurity. A definite donor prospect and will be worked into our donor program!
 

What can I say this heifer, she was one of two ET (The Postman x Betsy Lee) pregnancies purchased when we bought Betsy Lee. She's currently bred to Cherokee due to calf Spring 2005. All I can say about this heifer is she's another one you'd bet the farm on. She a donor class prospect all the way.
 

This red heifer was the LBBA Futurity Grand Champion in 2003. Her first calf (black bull) is out of Black Black and he looks outstanding. Currently bred to Native Illusion due to calf Spring 2005.
 

We fell in love with this black heifer when we first saw her. She's currently bred to Black Blaze due to calf Spring 2005.
